Kawang!

Oliver as usual, in his underwear, my kid’s preferred mode of attire. This was taken at a firends Christmas Even dinner - the Feast of the Seven Fishes that we were fortunate enough to attend this year. God was that grub good! Kids had fun too!

Christmas Party

A rare moment of filial compliance before heading off to a friend’s Christmas party. Hair-brushed and faces clean? Woot?! Oliver had decided on a different pair of specs that day. Go figure!

Rainmaker

There is something about the rain in Southern Claifornia, t’s always somewhat of a festive event, it happens so rarely. Of course we feel this for the first two days then the monotony sets in and we’re ready for the sun again.

This shot captures Lola in all her Loliness. Crazy pants on head fashion, face-painted to the max, ready to get jumping!

Off to see The Nutcracker

The holidays are all about traditions, at least for me anyway. One tradition we began this year was to see The Nutcracker ballet with the girls.

Believe it or not the choreography of their outfits was a total surprise. What can we say - these girls have taste!

Apple pie anyone?

This Thanksgiving was particularly enjoyable… now why was that? Ah yes - we went somewhere else for dinner! Less cooking :) I do love to cook, but it was so nice to be entertained for once. Thank you Brian and Cerentha for a wonderful spread!
Even though I didn’t cook the meal, I did make the dessert - apple pie - yum!
Recipe courtesy of Martha Stewart.

Thanksgiving Friends

Lola with her friend Marielle from the Red Robins class. One thing I will always remember from her first year at Young Minds is the face painting. Boy does my girl love to paint herself, you can’t do it for her. No no! Very specific ideas on technique this girl has. Gorgeous creature!

Of Star Wars & Fairies

Happy Halloween! Steven’s Chewbacca costume had the starring role this year - everybody loved it! We went on a tour of the canals, an impressive group all dressed up in our Star Wars gear. Lola did have a Leia costume but decided last minute to be a fairy. Always going her own way is wee Lolie, one of the many things I love about her.

As for Oliver, his night was made when someone gave hi a light saber! And I’m not talking about the plastic cheapy kind I’ve picked up for him at Walgreens either! This one lights up, makes the right noises. Very impressive. He won’t be forgetting this Halloween for a while. Although I do have to impress upon him that this kind of thing doesn’t happen evervy Halloween. Needless to say, his Star Wars obsession contiues unabated!

Artichoke 3

Some experiments with lensbaby lenses create some wonderful effects. Kindergarten has sucked up my time this Fall and I’ve been neglecting my photography. Now there’s a resolution for next year!
