The things they say…

Yesterday we were sitting down eating dinner, on the menu mashed sweet potato, broccoli and fish sticks - not my most imaginative effort I’ll admit. To encourage my wee adorables in their eating, I asked: “So, what is the most important part of the body?”
Thinking this would provide me with a clever segue to the importane of feeding that part of the body and helping it grow and be strong!
Oliver replied proudly, so excited with his answer: “The penis!”
You couldn’t make this shit up.
I put my arm around him and said: “Many men would share your view Oliver”.

This morning, Steven began introducing the kids to some music other than Country (TGFT) - including David Bowie and Ziggy Stardust, random I know, I presume it was on the radio… On explaining that Bowie was English, Lola asked “Is he friends with Granny?”

If only Lola, if only…

Letter from Berlin

At the beginning of March Steven and I went on a whirlwind trip to New York, London and Berlin. Claudette was home looking after the kids and it was one of the first times we had gotten to travel, and I mean really travel, in quite a while. Mum came out to Berlin to spend some time with me while Steven was at his conference. We saw a lot of museums, ate some great food and got to play grown ups once again. Here are a few of my favorite images from the trip.

Lola after dance class

After an initial stalled attempt with ballet, this new class seems to be really resonating with Lola. I think it helps there is a girl from her preschool, Sofia who also goes. This one she actually looks forward to.

Big day - Oliver learns to whistle!

Couldn’t get over this tonight at the dinner table, Oliver looks at me and starts to whistle! Wow. I think I was like 12 when I learnt to do that!

Not getting any younger

But not looking too shabby either :) I’ve just started experimenting with a new Iphone app - pretty nifty pictures. I really like this one - although it took a few goes!
